Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff have officially filed for divorce in New York after three years of marriage, proceeding with an uncontested joint petition.

The joint filing was confirmed on October 30, 2026, by a source close to the former couple who spoke to People. Reporting on the filing was also confirmed by Us Weekly, The Independent and TMZ.

“Jack and Margaret are filing for divorce jointly. This is a mutual decision,” the source told People. “They share a deep affinity and love for one another, and though their romantic partnership is ending, they will absolutely be lifelong friends.”

A mutual decision after summer separation

The filing follows the couple’s separation earlier in the year. Split rumors initially surfaced in early July 2026 after Qualley removed wedding photos from her Instagram account and did not attend the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, where Antonoff was accompanied by his sister, Rachel Antonoff.

On July 10, 2026, Qualley’s representative confirmed the separation to E! News and addressed online speculation directly.

“The narratives running in the press about Margaret and Jack are categorically untrue. There are no trust issues. There was no infidelity or anything outside of respect and partnership in this relationship,” Qualley’s representative told E! News at the time.

From New Jersey nuptials to the stage

Qualley and Antonoff first began dating in 2021 before announcing their engagement in 2022. The actress and the Bleachers musician married in Long Beach Island, New Jersey, in August 2023.

Antonoff briefly addressed the situation publicly from the stage during a Bleachers concert at The Troubadour in Los Angeles on September 15, 2026. When an audience member requested the band perform the track “Let’s Get Married,” Antonoff replied, “Absolutely not. Read the news, brother.”

More recently, Antonoff reflected on performing his music in an interview published by The Guardian on October 25, 2026. “Songs which I wrote recently, I obviously was really worried about this specific thing, I sat long and hard with it and thought: ‘If I change the setlist …’ and in my gut there was a unanimous jury that said, ‘No, this is the deal. The deal I’ve made with my audience is that I’m going to tell you honestly how I feel and I’m going to risk at any moment having to stand behind it for f—ing ever,'” Antonoff told the publication.

What we do and do not know

The court filing in New York was agreed upon mutually between both parties as an uncontested joint petition.

Specific legal and financial terms of the divorce settlement and the division of property have not been disclosed. The exact timeline for when the divorce decree will be finalized also remains unknown.
