Privacy policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
This policy explains what personal information CelebShift (celebshift.com) collects, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the choices you have. Our readers are mainly in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, so it is written with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) in mind. The rights described here are available to every visitor, wherever you live.
1. Who we are
CelebShift is published by EGITEK TECNOLOGIA LTDA, a company registered in Brazil (CNPJ 50.887.179/0001-19), which is the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us about privacy at [email protected].
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you send us
The site has no accounts, comments, sign-up forms or logins. The only information you give us directly is what you include in an email: your address, your name if you share it, and your message.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Server logs: IP address, date and time, page visited, referring address and browser type.
- Cookies and similar technologies used for audience measurement and advertising, described in sections 4 and 5.
In CCPA terms, the categories are identifiers (IP address, cookie IDs), internet activity (pages viewed, interactions with ads) and approximate location inferred from IP address. We do not collect sensitive personal information.
3. How we use it, and our legal bases
| Purpose | Legal basis (UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Reply to messages, correction requests and responses | Legitimate interests |
| Keep the site secure and working | Legitimate interests |
| Measure audience with analytics cookies | Consent, where required |
| Show advertising, including personalized ads | Consent, where required |
| Comply with legal obligations and requests from authorities | Legal obligation |
4. Cookies and your consent
We use Google Analytics to understand which stories people read. If you visit from the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, Switzerland or Quebec, analytics and advertising cookies are off by default, and Google Analytics only receives cookieless signals. They are turned on only if you agree through a consent message, where you can also change your choice at any time. Elsewhere, these cookies are used unless you opt out as described below.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
5. Advertising and third-party cookies
Ads on this site are served by Google (Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager) and advertising partners working with Google.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, and opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies at aboutads.info or, in Canada, youradchoices.ca. Opting out does not reduce the number of ads you see; it makes them less personalized.
- Learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
6. Sale and sharing of personal information (US residents)
We do not sell personal information for money. Allowing advertising cookies on this site may count as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California and other US state laws. You can opt out at any time by turning off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings, by using a browser that sends the Global Privacy Control signal, which we treat as an opt-out request, or by emailing [email protected] with the subject “Do not sell or share”.
7. Who we share information with
- Hosting and content delivery providers.
- Advertising and analytics platforms, as described above.
- The email service we use to answer messages.
- Authorities, when required by law.
8. International transfers
We are based in Brazil, and some of our service providers operate in the United States and other countries. When information about UK, European or Canadian readers is processed in those countries, it is protected by contractual safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and standard contractual clauses offered by our providers.
9. How long we keep it
- Server logs: up to 6 months.
- Emails you send us: up to 2 years after we reply.
- Cookies: for the period set by each provider, or until you delete them.
10. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to give you a copy, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to its use, to withdraw consent you gave, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights. Email [email protected]; we answer within one month (45 days for US state law requests). An authorized agent may make a request on your behalf.
You also have the right to complain to a regulator: in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office; in Canada, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada; in California, the California Privacy Protection Agency.
11. Children
This site is not directed to children under 13 (under 16 in the UK), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access to our systems. No system is perfectly secure; if an incident puts your information at risk, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
13. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
