DWTS Season 35 Disney Night songs trade movie classics for Broadway
The ballroom shifts from animated screens to theatrical scores as two co-hosts prepare to dance alongside the remaining competitors.
Dancing with the Stars Season 35 has officially unveiled its song selections, dance styles, and theatrical inspirations for Week 8, shifting the ballroom focus to musical stage productions. The complete lineup was announced Thursday, October 29, 2026, on the Dancing With the Stars Official Podcast hosted by Season 34 quarter-finalist Andy Richter, and reported by Us Weekly and Just Jared.
The upcoming episode centers on “the magic of Disney on Broadway,” marking the franchise’s first dedicated Broadway-themed Disney evening, according to fan reactions tracked by Disney Food Blog. Eight couples remain in contention following the Week 7 Horror Movie Night double elimination that sent home Tyler Cameron and pro Sharna Burgess alongside Jackson Olson and Emma Slater.
The complete Week 8 routine lineup
Each of the eight couples will perform an individual routine drawing from stage adaptations and theatrical Disney catalog favorites:
- Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov: Quickstep to “A Star Is Born” from Hercules
- Connor Wood and Rylee Arnold: Waltz to “I See the Light” from Tangled
- Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach: Samba to “Under the Sea” from The Little Mermaid
- Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson: Jazz to “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” from Mary Poppins
- Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy: Quickstep to “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast
- Julia Stiles and Ezra Sosa: Paso Doble to “Satisfied” from Hamilton
- Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas: Jive to “You Can Fly! You Can Fly! You Can Fly!” from Peter Pan
- Tatyana Ali and Jan Ravnik: Contemporary to “Easy as Life” from Aida
Team dances, guest judging and a date change
In addition to individual routines, team dances return to the competition for Week 8. One group will dance to “Zoo” from Zootopia 2, while the opposing group will perform to “We’re All in This Together” from High School Musical. Co-hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough will participate directly, with each host joining one of the group routines on the dance floor.
Emmy, Grammy, and Tony winner Cynthia Erivo joins the scoring table as a guest judge alongside permanent panelists Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli.
Viewers will also notice a calendar adjustment. Disney Night will air on a special night, Monday, November 2, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, moving off its normal Tuesday slot due to ABC News live coverage of the US midterm elections scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
Ballroom tensions and what remains unrevealed
The high-energy theme arrives after a dramatic stretch of the season. Pro dancer Val Chmerkovskiy returned to the floor with partner Jenna Dewan on October 27, 2026, following a one-week suspension during Week 6 over social media comments directed at Inaba, during which Alan Bersten had filled in.
Tensions earlier in the season also prompted comments from competitors. On October 13, 2026, pro dancer Jan Ravnik remarked during a live exchange with Hough, “We have a dance that has no power, so I don’t know.” Contestant Harry Shum Jr. later encouraged a positive atmosphere in an Instagram post reported by TV Insider, writing: “Reminder that this is a dance show. It is supposed to be joyous. People are suffering in the world already, so let’s celebrate each other with more love. I’ll go first.”
What production has not yet disclosed is the exact couple breakdown for each group routine, which dance styles the two teams will perform, and whether an elimination will occur at the conclusion of the Monday broadcast.
