DWTS Season 35 Horror Movie Night double elimination ends two runs at once
Judges' scores from two full weeks collided with viewer votes on Tuesday, sending a pair of celebrated ballroom competitors home in a sudden exit.
Television personality Tyler Cameron and baseball player and influencer Jackson Olson were sent home in a double elimination at the end of Week 7 on Dancing with the Stars Season 35 on Tuesday, October 27, during the show’s live broadcast on ABC and Disney+.
The Horror Movie Night results marked the first exits in two weeks. During Week 6 on October 20, co-hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough revealed that no one would be eliminated on Dedication Night, with all judges’ scores and viewer votes rolling over to create Tuesday’s cut. Co-host Julianne Hough explained during that broadcast, “On such a special night, we didn’t want anyone to be sent home.” Alfonso Ribeiro added at the time that “in keeping with Horror Movie Night, two couples will be axed.”
How the Horror Movie Night scores stacked up
Tuesday’s competition welcomed ballroom expert Shirley Ballas to the judges’ table as a guest judge alongside regular panelists Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli, as reported by E! News.
Tyler Cameron and professional partner Sharna Burgess danced a Viennese waltz to Annie Lennox’s “Love Song for a Vampire,” inspired by Bram Stoker’s Dracula. The routine earned 26 out of 40 points from the panel, giving the pair a combined two-week total of 58 points. During critiques, Derek Hough commented on Cameron’s frame, while Carrie Ann Inaba pointed out the height difference between Cameron and Burgess.
Jackson Olson and professional partner Emma Slater tackled a contemporary routine set to Frank Sinatra’s “That’s Life,” inspired by Joker. The performance earned 35 out of 40 points from the judges, bringing their combined two-week score to 67 points. Inaba praised the dance during the critique, calling it “weird, but in a good way.”
What the eliminated stars said about leaving
Despite receiving strong feedback on Tuesday, Olson and Slater fell short once audience votes were factored in with the judges’ totals across both weeks. Olson, an infielder for the Savannah Bananas exhibition baseball team, had balanced travel between Georgia and Los Angeles until the team’s season wrapped on October 10. Addressing his run on the broadcast, Olson reflected on his time in the ballroom.
“I wanted to be on this since last year, and made a bunch of videos about it… Got on it and got the most amazing partner in Emma. The journey has been amazing,” Olson said.
For Cameron, the exit followed an emotional Dedication Night on October 20. Cameron had dedicated his previous routine to mothers and his late mother, Andrea, while announcing alongside his fiancée, Tate Madden, that they are expecting a baby girl, according to reporting from Page Six.
After finding himself at the bottom of the scoreboard on Tuesday, Cameron addressed his feelings on air. “You saw me upset up there,” Cameron said, adding, “I was disappointed in myself because I felt like I let her down cause she has given me so much.”
While both celebrities expressed gratitude to their professional partners before saying goodbye, the series does not disclose the precise combined vote totals or the full ranking breakdown from the home audience.
