Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s NYC date puts a promise into practice
With the Kansas City Chiefs on their bye week, the public night out was the couple's second date in the city in just a few days.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are making the most of their time in New York City. The couple was photographed holding hands during a date night on Friday, October 9, as they left The Jane Hotel, according to TMZ.
Photos showed the pair outside the hotel’s restaurant, Old Rose, before getting into a waiting black SUV.
A coordinated fall look
As noted by fashion outlets like Harper’s Bazaar, Swift and Kelce were dressed in complementary autumn colors. Swift wore a dark olive-green knit top with corduroy trousers and burgundy loafers. She carried a black leather Gucci Horsebit 1955 shoulder bag.
Kelce wore a cream-colored polo shirt with relaxed brown trousers and black loafers, creating a coordinated look with his wife.
A week of dates in NYC
The date night comes during a break for Kelce from his NFL schedule. The Kansas City Chiefs are on their Week 5 bye week, which runs from October 7 to October 13, according to the official NFL schedule. The team’s last game was on October 4, and their next is on October 18 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
This was the couple’s second public outing in the city this week. On Monday, October 5, they celebrated Kelce’s 37th birthday with a dinner at the Italian restaurant Torrisi in Manhattan, as reported by TMZ.
‘We’re showing up for each other’
The couple, who married in July 2026 at New York’s Madison Square Garden, have been open about supporting each other publicly. In a December 2023 interview with TIME, Swift discussed their approach to the media attention surrounding their relationship.
“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” she told the magazine. Swift also clarified the timeline of their early romance, stating, “By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”
