Keegan Allen robbed at gunpoint: what happened in the aftermath
The 'Pretty Little Liars' star shared a video of his bloodied face on social media just moments after the violent attack in West Hollywood.
Pretty Little Liars actor Keegan Allen was robbed at gunpoint and knifepoint in West Hollywood on Thursday night, sharing a video of his bloodied face with his followers on Instagram shortly after the attack.
The incident took place around 9:05 p.m. on October 8 outside the Laurel Supply grocery market in the 8400 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) confirmed in a statement to the media.
According to the LASD, two masked men dressed in black clothing approached Allen. “One suspect pointed a silver handgun at the victim while the other pointed a knife and demanded the victim’s watch and bracelet,” the department stated. “Shortly after, the victim was struck in the face with the handgun.”
The suspects stole the actor’s watch and fled in an unknown vehicle. The sheriff’s department confirmed that Allen “sustained a laceration to his forehead” and was treated at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics, but was not transported to a hospital by them.
What Allen said after the attack
In a video posted to his Instagram account, Allen described the robbery while showing his injuries. “I was just robbed of my watch outside of Laurel Supply,” he said. “These two dudes hit me in the head, pointing a gun at me with a knife, and then took off. They had masks on. Took my watch though.”
In the post’s caption, Allen wrote: “West Hollywood is not safe anymore. Robbed at gunpoint and knifepoint by two young men that threatened to KILL me over my watch and would have! God said no tonight. My life for a watch.”
He later added in a comment on his Instagram post that he went to the hospital and was “def concussed”.
How friends and officials reacted
Friends and colleagues shared their support in the comments on his post. Actor Colin Ford, who co-starred with Allen on the show Walker, wrote that he was glad Allen was alive and offered his help.
In his post, Allen also tagged Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and California Governor Gavin Newsom. “Let’s hope all these flock cameras that @karenbassla @gavinnewsom and everyone thinks will stop crime can find these very dangerous criminals,” he wrote.
The City of West Hollywood also released a statement. “West Hollywood is a compassionate and engaged community, and news of this violent robbery is deeply upsetting and unsettling,” the statement said. The city confirmed that the LASD will conduct additional patrols.
