Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber have been seen in public for the first time since the death of their son, Presley Gerber. The couple was photographed holding hands during a walk on Zuma Beach in Malibu on October 10, according to reports from outlets including Page Six.
The somber outing comes three weeks after Presley Gerber died at the age of 27.
The loss of Presley Gerber
Presley Gerber died on September 20, 2026, at a rehab facility in Santa Monica, a representative for the family confirmed at the time. In a statement to multiple outlets, the representative said, “The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time.”
According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office, an autopsy has been completed, but a cause of death has been deferred pending further investigation. Police are investigating the death as a suspected overdose, and no foul play is suspected. His body has been cremated, TMZ reported, with his ashes to be kept at his parents’ home.
Presley, who worked as a model for brands like Dolce & Gabbana and Calvin Klein, had been open about his struggles with mental health and addiction. In a 2023 podcast appearance, he described managing his mental health as a “24/7 job.”
Tributes from family and friends
In the days leading up to his parents’ beach walk, tributes to Presley have continued to appear. On October 9, George Clooney, a close friend and business partner of Rande Gerber, spoke about the family’s loss to Entertainment Tonight. “Quite honestly, it’s one of the most devastating things that’s happened to our family,” Clooney said. “And their family is just, as you can imagine, it’s the worst thing that could happen to the family.”
Presley’s ex-girlfriend, model Isabella Jones, also shared a tribute on Instagram on October 9. Alongside photos of the couple, she wrote, “My sweet Presley, I will miss you for the rest of my life.”
In March 2026, his mother Cindy Crawford had offered public support on one of his Instagram posts about his recovery journey. Commenting on a video he shared, she wrote, “You are a warrior! Walked thru the fire to find yourself! So proud!”
