American country singer Billy Ray Cyrus and British actress Elizabeth Hurley are engaged, sources close to the couple confirmed to Page Six and TMZ on Friday, October 16. Cyrus proposed and Hurley accepted, marking a new chapter in a relationship that went public in the spring of 2025.

Addressing the social media post, an unnamed insider told Page Six, “She’s filming ‘The ‘Burbs’; I hardly think this ring is a prop.”
Cyrus added to the anticipation on October 15 with an Instagram post promoting his track “Party’s in the Back” alongside musical group DELTONA and teasing an upcoming performance with NASCAR in Phoenix. In the caption, the musician reflected on standing on solid ground and closed out his message with a ring emoji and the phrase that the weekend kinda has a ring to it. Hurley’s son, Damian Hurley, later responded to Cyrus’s post with a celebratory emoji, according to The Times of India.
From holiday co-stars to country romance
The couple originally crossed paths in 2022 while filming the festive film “Christmas in Paradise.” During an appearance on “The SheerLuxe Podcast” on October 9, Hurley looked back at their initial project together, explaining that nothing romantic occurred during filming, that she was never alone with him, and that they did not even hold hands at the time.
The pair reconnected following Cyrus’s divorce from singer Firerose in 2024. They made their romance official on Easter Sunday in April 2025 with a joint post on Instagram.
In June 2025, Cyrus’s daughter Miley Cyrus addressed the relationship publicly, stating that she supported her father’s happiness.
Hurley also opened up about their connection on “The SheerLuxe Podcast,” highlighting their shared preference for living on rural farms away from busy cities. She added lighthearted remarks about their matching looks during the interview, saying, “We have the same hair.” She also told the podcast, “Apart from his beard, we’re actually like twins.”
